We drove to Blakeley, Alabama a town that no longer exists but is now a National Historic site.  The town was unoccupied for almost a hundred years. Than a dentist bought up the land to preserve it because it is a battle field of the Civil war.  The last major battle of the civil war was fought here.  Sadly it was fought after the surrender at Appomattox. Since it was abandoned  right after the civil war the trenches and brest works of the battlefield are still there.  It was disturbing to know that you were standing were brave men fought to the death.  You can still see the trenches of both sides and defensive lines that are miles long.

The campground was really nice with very private campsites. It is a very nice park.
